Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve done an award or a tag, but Audra from Audra’s Book Blabbing tagged me in a post for the Sunshine Blogger Award a few weeks ago, so I figured I’d do it today! I love doing these types of posts, so thanks to Audra for tagging me!

What is your favorite number?
4! It’s mainly because my birthday is on the 4th, but also because 4 is just a nice number to me—it evenly divides, it’s a square root, etc. I don’t know, my number-obsessed mind just thinks it’s nice.
If you could have any job in the world, what job would it be?
My absolute crazy dream job is to be the person who designs the cute socks that Target sells, with the little animals or adorable patterns on them. I imagine myself just sitting in a big meeting room drinking tea and going, “Okay, guys, we haven’t put any pandas on a sock for 6 months now; let’s get some designs with pandas playing the piano going, stat!”
What do you hope will happen in 2019?
On a personal level, I’d like to find an internship! I graduate in less than a year and a half, and I want/need to start getting some experience in the real world. There’s also a couple programs I want to participate in related to my major/future career in 2020 and beyond, all of which I have to apply for in 2019, so finding out that I’m accepted into at least one of those this year would be amazing as well!
On a more worldwide scale, anything that makes the world a little bit kinder, safer, cleaner, or more welcoming would be nice. World peace and everything is a bit of a stretch to ask for, but seeing more good news than bad news coming out of 2019 would be wonderful.
If you could pick any person for president (real or fictional), who would it be? Why?
Real: Probably this random guy I go to school with who’s majoring in political science. He pays attention to politics the way other people pay attention to sports and seems to know everything about what’s going on in Washington D.C. and gets super fired up about what needs to change to make the country/world better. He’s also given me a few book recommendations, so that helps win me to his cause, too.
Fictional: Hermione Granger. She is the hero we need. She would fight everything from Dark Magic to corrupt politicians for us.
Do you like your blog?
For the most part! I think I want to make new header images someday and generally make it look nicer, but I’m happy with my posting schedule for now (when I stick to it, at least) and the content I’m writing.
Which blog that you are following really inspires you?
I feel like I admire everyone I follow for some reason or another, whether it’s the way they write their reviews, the fun posts they come up with, the style/graphics on their blog, or just their voice/personality that comes through their post. That said, if I have to pick one specific blog, it’s probably Julianna at Paper Blots. I started reading her blog wayyyy before I had a blog or bookstagram and I continue to love her style of writing and style of fangirling over everything and reading her posts still makes me excited about book blogging.
What is your favorite mythical creature?
I am fascinated by dragons. They just seem so cool and there’s so many cultures in which they appear around the world. I also have a soft spot for the Russian/Eastern European monster of the Baba Yaga. My grandma used to tell me a Baba Yaga lived in her basement and it scared me so much that I still don’t like being in her basement.
What piece of advice would you give past you?
Probably any of the things I’ve learned from my therapist about managing anxiety, both general and social—taking a step back when I need to, that it’s better to put myself out there than to hide from people, but to still give myself permission to leave something early if I can’t deal with it. On second thought, I might just tell myself to ask for help earlier—even if past me wasn’t in a place where therapy was an option, I’ve found that opening up to people in my life about how I feel helps more than keeping everything to myself.
What piece of advice would you give future you?
I’m trying to remain optimistic that future me is even better/cooler/more successful than present me, so I’d say I’d tell myself to just keep doing what I’m doing, but hopefully to stay true to myself too. I’d also tell future me I’m sorry for always making things so hard when it comes to homework—I don’t mean to procrastinate on everything, but it’s just so easy to put off writing a paper when I know it’s a future me problem and not a present me problem 😉
What is your favorite thing about blogging?
The community! I love chatting about books with everyone and getting to interact on other people’s posts. I also love getting to write out my thoughts on books and how my reading year is going in general. Even if no one else reads those posts, I love looking back on them myself and seeing how I’ve grown.
What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas! Funny enough, the day itself isn’t even what I like about it. I just enjoy the season and general feeling of Christmas—the music, the movies, the festive hot beverages and cozy feelings you get, the hustle and bustle and decorations. It’s just a nice season to spend with friends and family.
